Akinz was founded in 2005 in a studio apartment in Houston, TX by Suzanne Akin as a clothing line for those with an active lifestyle who expect the extraordinary. Suzanne studied fashion design but hadn’t been inspired to create until she started wakeboarding. She started setting up booths at local wakeboarding competitions and events and the name started to spread. After a couple years, Suzanne felt the pull for a little more adventure and a lot more snow and moved to Colorado. After a couple years in Steamboat soaking up the champagne powder, Akinz is now based out of Fort Collins, CO.
